CAD Technician

DSEL is seeking a bright and motivated individual to join our Contract Administration department as a CAD Technician.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all of the AutoCAD works in the department, including erosion and sediment control drawings, as-constructed drawings, earthwork calculations and assisting with house siting review.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with AutoCAD, supporting the drawing needs of our project coordinators and site inspectors
  • Draft sediment and erosion control drawings and construction staging drawings
  • Prepare as-constructed drawing sand update design sheets based on information provided by the site inspector for submission to the municipalities and conservation authorities.
  • Complete earthwork quantity verifications for contractor payment requests for topsoil, cut/fill and other quantities
  • Measure quantities in AutoCAD for tenders and payment requests

Qualifications:

  • CET designation and/or recent completion of a undergraduate civil engineering degree program
  • 1 year experience in an AutoCAD-focussed position, ideally with a low-rise engineering consulting firm
  • Strong AutoCAD abilities and experience with Civil 3D
  • Above-average Word and Excel knowledge and ability
  • Highly-motivated, organized, and able to work well independently
