Job Description

DSEL’s Project Administration department is a skilled group of dedicated engineers that manage the land development engineering design and approval process, coordinate with other project professionals, and maintain and improve client relationships. The Project Coordinator is an instrumental member of the team, providing support to the Project Manager and Junior Project Manager. The Project Coordinator is responsible for all day-to-day coordination activities related to land development design, including initial engineering investigations, collection of engineering design constraints, coordination with project designers, preparation of engineering reports, navigation through the design and approvals process, and design handover for construction.

Reporting to: Project Administration -Project Manager
Employment type: Permanent; Full-Time (36-hours per week); Remote

What you’ll do

  • Prepare written communications, including emails, mark-ups or sketches to aid in coordinating the subdivision design with external project professionals
  • Gather, compile, and review project-specific design information and constraints
  • Coordinate with DSEL’s internal staff in the Detailed Design and Contract Administration departments as necessary to complete project coordination tasks
  • Assist with the preparation of design reports and permit application packages
  • Collect and manage approval agency comments and responses, including coordination of contributions from others
  • Expedite circulation and submission of time-sensitive information and deliverables
  • Assist with the preparation of construction handover packages
  • Support the project management team and communicate with external project professionals
  • Independently-monitor assigned tasks and provide updates through to task completion

What will help you succeed in this role

  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • Proven ability to solve problems and to communicate ideas clearly in a technical and non-technical manner, both written and verbally
  • Above-average knowledge and abilities in Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team environment
