DSEL is looking for a bright and motivated individual eager to work in the role of Junior Water Resources Engineer. In this fully-remote position, you will be working with the Water Resources Team on all storm water management projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the preparation stormwater management sections of design reports (FSR, MESP, due diligence, etc.).
- Co-ordinate directly with internal team members, other project professionals (Environmental, Fluvial, Geotech, etc.).
- Make inquiries, gather project specific design information (reports, drawings, etc.) as directed. Extract specific stormwater management information relevant to the project as directed by the Water Resources Engineer.
- Assist with preparation of project stormwater modelling including model set up and initial run for review by the Water Resources Engineer.
- Prepare preliminary stormwater management quantity and quality controls including outlet structure sizing as directed by the Water Resources Engineer.
- Review design comments, and assist with the preparation of comment responses
- Meet deadlines as assigned and agreed with Senior Water Resources Engineer and Water Resources Engineer.
What will help you succeed in this role:
- A graduate engineer with interest in subdivision design and stormwater management
- Strong AutoCAD and computer skills, including stormwater modeling (HECRAS, PCSWMM, etc)
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledgeable in design of storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, roads, lot grading, earthworks and stormwater management
- Familiar with design standards and municipal criteria
- Self-motivated, independent and driven
